In the panda world there are many facts about pandas! So let’s start of with the scientific names! The scientific names for a panda are Ailuropodine and melaleuca. The adult weight of an average adult panda is about 165 353 lbs. Comparing to an adult you should be lucky to be weighing about the 100lbs. The weight of a baby panda from birth is about 4 – 8 ounces. The adult body length is about 4 – 5 feet. Their diet is 25 to 40 pounds of bamboo per day. Their life span is about 15 to 20 years in the wild and 25 to 35 years in captivity. So it turns out pandas in captivity are better of in captivity then the wild.
